Laura’s PhD studies in entrepreneurship have inspired and motivated her interest on entrepreneurs in multigenerational family business.

Her book Entrepreneurs in Family Business Dynasties, published by Springer Publishers, offers insights into how multigenerational family businesses successfully survive into thriving family dynasties, and identifies personal and ethical values that contribute to successful multigenerational family dynasties.

Think Different

Her recent research has studied entrepreneurs who are/have been homeless, whose state of homelessness was no barrier to 'thinking differently', and it examines how they made use of their personal and other resources in order to create sustainable, and in some cases highly prosperous enterprises. Her research shows that positive and forward thinking, together with appropriate support empowers young people to become the decision makers of their destiny and their lives.

Laura has 20 years’ experience in higher education across both the public and private higher education systems. She has worked with senior academics, managers and policy makers.
She has created, developed and implemented innovative international educational programs and projects, with a focus on addressing barriers to employment.
Laura has received numerous academic and community awards, and has attracted major national and international funding for a broad range of research projects and international study abroad and employment programs
Laura is passionate about creating new paths and finding sustainable solutions to support young people in shaping their own positive, ethical, and fruitful future. Her innovative forward thinking solutions aim to foster real change not only in young people’s lives, but to the benefit of the community at large.
She has created and established the new project ME4You - Mentoring Entrepreneurship for Youth.
Laura has received grants and awards in recognition of her vision, entrepreneurial work and achievements.

Laura has mentored young people engaging in education, entrepreneurship, and business.
​
Through her work with young people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage in the Victorian government program Education First Youth Foyers, she focussed on young entrepreneurs, their ability to 'think differently', their personal skills and resources. Laura has mentored numerous young people to create sustainable, and in some cases, prosperous enterprises.
